With a career that is firmly based in the protection of highly sensitive assets within the UK, enhanced through the design of CCTV systems for a major UK systems house and capped by being a Regional and a Group Security Manager for a high street bank, Aidan Anderson encapsulates the modern security professional.
Aidan brings with him a high degree of practical knowledge and has been there when things have gone particularly well and other times when they have gone completely wrong. However, it is through that continual learning process that has enabled Aidan to:
Manage a bank’s Group security function and through that establish common policies, procedures, working practices as well contracts with third party security providers.
Brought security within the bank’s Risk department and effected change in delivery of the security product within a risk and governance regime.
Integrated the Security and Business Continuity functions to capitalise on the synergies achieved and effect a step change in organisational resilience.
Instigated and led a project that unified four separate security control rooms into a single central service, in what was a GBP650k spend which generated GPD300k savings per annum.
Proven subject matter expert on Tiger Kidnapping, through having to prepare the bank fully for them and to deal with incidents as they arose.
It is that high degree of knowledge, understanding how failures occur and how security fits into a risk environment which is at the core of RedLeaf Consultancy’s offering.
Some Articles by Aidan

Aidan lives in Northern Ireland and has an excellent knowledge of the local security situation. Although the situation has eased considerably over the last number of years, terrorism and civil unrest has not gone away completely and needs to be planned for.

It is bringing his experience to bear and critical thinking in situations that enables Aidan to make assessments on the impact of new equipment or procedures. In this short note on the use of Smartphones for access control, Aidan is questioning if the technology providers really understand risk.
